easiest to hardest

math

science(wicked test)

Science is always the one I get pressed for time and have to fill in an answer on. Some of the questions are just too blasted long and detailed.

That math question about the two trains with the impossible to read graph and near exact timings as answers really screwed me up.

Anyone remembers the answers for the fiscal policy on the reading section, I want to know if i'm right?

8 pi or 15 pi...oops wrong thread.

slip4: I could probably give you some answers if you had the questions, but I can't remember them all off the top of my head. Don't worry about it you probably did fine, that seemed to be the most straightforward of the reading assignments.

you kno, i tried a different strategy for the reading this time, i read through each section quickly, but pretty throughly (sp?) and i found i had just enough time to get everything done, and i felt like i did a very decent job on the reading section as a whole, i had one question i marked in the book that i had to go back to and that was it

wow , the other day i took a science sample test and only missed 3...but omg TODAY! This science test was harder than anyone i've take before! You guys agree? I was guessing way more than usual. =(

Was the science this bad last time?

hey, how long do you think it will take for our scores to be sent to colleges? I'm applying early to yale, so they need my scores soon. should I call the ACT ppl and have them RUSH my score?

I actually liked the science part today. I'm weird, I know. The Princeotn revew book for the ACT is my hero. Reading was great too. I always find myself pressed for time on those two, but after using the book, todya was a breeze. I am happy to say i completed every section. I want my score so badly!

its 2.
I graphed them and they intersect twice.

You people who got x^2 + y^2 = 4 by substituting forgot that even if x^2 + y^2 = 4, xy still has to = 3.

I actually think my science score was probably (or hopefully, rather) better than previous tests (I got a 30 as a sophomore, and a 28 as a junior... funny how that works). However, I'm kind of unsure about my reading one... I don't feel like I did well, however I did get a 36 on the reading part last time I took the ACT so I'm hoping that's not the case. Anyway, I thought the order of difficulty, from easiest to hardest, was: Math, English, Science, Reading....

OMG I got a higher score as a sophmore rather than a junior too! (32 then 31.)

Let's see if we can answer some Q's.

The reading passage about the Ojibwe author that asked if the author supported the term "Native Literature" the answer was B: she felt it was constricting or whatever because there are many differring Native American tribes.

ARG I almost forgot how to do cos (or was it tan?) for the leaning tower question...I don't remember what I answered.

What was the answer for the river width one? I think I put 144. I don't remember, but that number sounds right. Good grief, I took the test this morning and I can barely remember it...

Crap! That reading one was B? I don't think I put that.. ugh.

I thought it was English, math, reading, science from easiest to hardest. English and math can maybe be reversed.

For that xy = 3 one. it is 2 solutions. I graphe dit on my calculator. The thing was a circle after all b/c of the x^2 and y^2, and y = x/3 is a linear line. So it will either be 0, 1, or 2 since it could not pass through at all, be tangent to the circle, or pass through twice in and out. When graphing, you'll see the two equations intersecting twice, so shazam!

What was a circle? Hyperbola and two lines, right?

Reading is the easiest test, but I've never finished it. I got a 33 on it my first time and 31 my second. Good thing that my other scores were high (my composite was 34 first and 33 second time).

According to the awesome power of the 89, there is no solution, although i didn't know it at the time.

i think i had a different test, too... but not the SAME different test. i had passages about stonemasonry, a jazz photographer, and "tomale day" or something.

I got a 29E/32M/30R/34S last time and this time (although it is hard to predict) I think I got higher on English (I felt very confident- but maybe too ****y? :/ ) I'm guessing I got higher on Math (Only 4 problems gave me trouble). About the same or higher on reading and less on science... This science section was hard! Although the June science was very long, this was a lot more difficult...
