ACT or SAT for competitive colleges

I am a Questbridge finalist so I get 11 free applications to colleges. I am also applying to Macalester and Georgetown. Could anyone tell me which test the following schools prefer and which scores I should send? The schools are:

Stanford, Pomona, Rice, Columbia, Yale, Northwestern, Oberlin, Haverford, Swarthmore, Emory, Amherst, Macalester, Georgetown.

My ACT composite scores are: 31 and 30
1st time - English - 35, Math - 34, Reading - 29, Science - 26
2nd time - English - 33, Math - 32, Reading - 26, Science - 29

My SAT score is a 2070
Critical Reading - 670, Math - 720, Writing - 680
My subject test scores are: Math Level II - 610, Biology - 650, U.S. History - 690

Also if anyone could weigh in on my chances for admission, that would be great.

your act/sat are comparable so really either one. Your sat II scores are somewhat below the average so perhaps if theres an option of not sending ur sat and just act you should

I don’t think there are any schools on your list that would admit to preferring the SAT over the ACT, though other people may believe that the most selective colleges do favor the SAT. I know lots of examples of students admitted based on ACT only. My D was admitted to Pomona ED, and she submitted only her ACT scores (took it twice). Pomona requires that you send all sittings of the ACT, or all of the SAT and SAT subject tests you took.

What were her scores? I heard Pomona superscores the ACT. So are you suggesting I don’t send my SAT? How does she like Pomona?

I’ve never heard they superscore the ACT at Pomona, but I know they at least take the highest composite. Her best composite was a 35, which was why she wasn’t too excited about sending SAT scores; those ranged from about 650 to 800, I think. Your SATs are closer to your ACT scores, so it would probably be fine to send them all.

She just got in for next year, so all I know is she thinks she’s gonna love it!

I never took the SAT and only submitted my ACT score to Pomona. I like it here (although I also speak highly of Macalester because I spent my freshman year of college at a school near Macalester).
