ACT or SAT? Which one to retake?

My junior DS just recently took both SAT I and ACT with writing. Her scores are the following:

SAT I: CR 770, M 750. W 640, Total 2160
ACT: E 33, R 33, M 31, S 31, Composite 32

We are planning for her to retake both, but we are confused which one to focus on. Writing is obviously her weakness and I think if she will retake the SAT, she will focus on her writing so that she can bump up to at least 700s. By doing that though, there's a danger that her CR/M scores will go down. But that still OK, since most colleges superscore anyway.

She thinks that she can probably improve her ACT score better, since the writing score is not really part of the composite score and she thinks that if she practices more, she can bump her composite to 34.

What do you think?

Retake the SAT, it’s easier and it eliminates the need to take the SAT II in the science subjects.

those are both good. What was the essay score - it can be pretty easy to pump that up once you know the formula. If it is the multiple choice questions that are posing the most challenge, focus on the rules for deviding seperate thoughts in the same sentence such as commas; coordinate conjunctions and semi-colons. Best of luck.

Her essay score is 8 on both SAT and ACT. I’m thinking of hiring a tutor to help her figure it out what is she doing wrong. She’s a very good writer but can’t gather her thought fast if there’s time constraint.
