Retake SAT or take ACT

I took the October SAT in 2012, my junior year, and I got a 2210. Break down:
CR: 800
Math: 740
Writing: 670 (Essay: 8)

I don't know if it's worth it to retake the SAT this October because my writing score, especially my essay, is low, and my math score is also considered pretty low for my dream school, Wharton. And basically I'm reaching for a couple of Ivies.

So many people have encouraged me not to retake it in case I get a lower score, or that it won't be worth it if I only improve by say 30 points. However, the break down scores are really low, so I don't know what to do!

I have also considered taking the ACT because I've heard it's easier. I know about the differences etc. but I just want to hear your personal opinions on the SAT and ACT if you've taken both. If I'm taking another test, I will most likely be taking either the SAT or ACT and not both.

I would really appreciate any feedback/advice/help/anything!
Thanks guys!

Any advice?

Honestly (coming from a soon to be Senior in high school) your SAT is fine to me (considering I made an 1860 for an Asian).

ACT is not exactly easier as the test looks at what you know while the SAT is more like what you can deduce.
If I were you try an ACT once after practice tests and see what you get, from there you can decide which one to send in.

in March my D got 2230 on SAT (780/690/760). She omitted last 4 problems on math. In June she got 34 composite on ACT 36/34/28/36. She thought the ACT was not necessarily easier but more clear, not requiring so much strategy…just answering straightforward questions…but more Qs in less time. I think she “liked” the ACT better if you can use that word about these tests! If your experience is like hers (your SAT is almost the same), you could expect a 34 on the ACT which would be a better than your SAT. And they don’t average in the essay on the ACT so you might even score higher…but do take the practice tests if you decide to go for it. Pacing is key with the ACT.

Thanks guys, I think I will definitely take an ACT practice test to see how I do.

Does anyone have any thoughts on whether a 2210 is too low for Wharton or not?
