I am a lot better at the ACT than i am at the SAT, will umich take either or do they want both?

either, actually i'd say in the state of michigan the ACT is taken more frequently

It doesn't matter

According to last year's USNews, Michigan applicants submitted 67% ACT scores and 58% submitted SAT scores. So, the ACT appears more common, but some people submit both. If you're better at ACT, go with ACT. ACT allows you to choose which score(s) to send in, while SAT will send in all your scores. However, SAT allows you to mix and match subsections, but ACT does not.

Yeah, you can take the ACT 50 times and you're allowed to send only your best score.

Unfortunately, I lacked the patience to take the new SAT and ACT more than once.

Me too. Once should be enough.
