OK guys, so as you may already know based on the millions of posts about this, I got my ACT scores today and I was very surprised at how much better my ACT score was than my SAT score.

So, to get to the point:
My ACT score is a 35, but my SAT score is just a 2170.
I'm debating whether I should just send my ACT score to the schools I am applying to (places like Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia...all the bad boys) or if I should send both the ACT and the SAT - I mean, just in case they want to see my SAT scores since many schools still seem to deep-down prefer it (although the ACT is gaining ground).

I find it interesting that Princeton provides detailed information about SAT scores and admission rates on its website, but doesn’t provide similar information about ACT scores. I’m not sure whether this means that Princeton prefers the SAT, that the college thinks fewer people would want to know this information, that too few people submit the ACT to provide valid statistics, or something else.

I got 36s in both science and reading, 34 in english and 35 in math.

Yeah, I also notice that for a lot of other Ivy Leagues, there is very little info about the ACT so usually I end up digging around CC looking for ACT info…

Just to let you know though: when you send you SAT Subject tests you send in your SATI results as well so colleges will see you ACT, Sat 1, and SAT II’s any way.

ACT all the way! My older son did better on the ACT but had to send both as he needed to send SAT 2’s and a few years back you did not have the option of what to send.

Younger son took only ACT- Did great and never took the SAT (and we are from the NE where SAT’s dominate.) Applied to 15 schools, mostly in NE, and got into all!!

Moral- All schools (that I know of) accept either score.
