ACT or Subject SAT II

Which one would look more impressive for colleges? I only have a choice to take 1. I am looking to apply to Stony Brook and Binghamton

anyone??? i need to know soon because the subject tests are coming

Not sure of the reason for the query. Do you already have a good SAT score? The CUNY’s neither require nor use SAT subject tests for admission so those would impress not at all. They do accept either the SAT or ACT. Thus, if you have not taken the SAT, the ACT could be a test to take but if you are already have a good SAT score, there is no reason to take the ACT.

Well, these schools aren’t, CUNYS, they are selective SUNYs and i read on collegeboard that Stony brook does reccomend a subject SAT, and my SAT score is 1670 right now (Atrocious i know) but i should be able to raise it to somewhere in the 1800-1900ss the second time i take it.

Look at the school’s website to determine is a subject test is a requirement or just a reccomendation. Don’t rely entirely on the profile found on the CB website.

I got a brain freeze on the CUNY SUNY and colleges mentioned. If you have a bad SAT, taking the ACT may be worth it although you would need to do prep. Having a good SAT or ACT is more important than having any subject scores for colleges that don’t require but recommend them. Stony Brook recommends two (a math and any other), Binghamton does not use subject tests for admission.

I recommend you call school’s admission office…they will tell you!

thanks for the reply drusba! BTW a quick question, is a chem SAT score of 630 worth even mentioning in admissions?

hey anyone wanna answer my question about the chem SAT i mentioned?

also, what is more impressive along with chemistry, a physics SAT II or math 1 SAT II
