ACT Plan or PSAT??

Hello all. My daughter is a soph. and took the PSAT for the experience last year and scored a 210. She took the SAT in June and scored a 2060. This year our school district will require the Sophomores to take either the PSAT or the ACT Plan test but it has not been announced. These are always given on a Wednesday. I heard the PSAT can also be taken on the following Saturday. Should she take the PSAT on the optional Saturday if required to take the ACT plan on Wednesday? She would like to try the PSAT again for practice and is hoping to achieve at least National Merit commended when she is a junior. as her dad's employer offers some scholarship $$. We are in FL.

Yes. You certainly should, if it isn’t a hassle. The benefits are endless.

Yes - take it if she can squeeze it in. The more experience with the format and timing, the better.

PLAN is irrelevant in the grand scheme of college applications. It must be some high school benchmark if they are forcing it on kids.

PSAT practice on the other hand might land her major scholarships if she makes national merit cut off in next year test.

Not really sure why the school district “forced” the Plan test but the overall opinion of the Sophomores who took it was that it was a waste of time. We had the option of paying for the PSAT when daughter was a freshie and so glad she had that experience.
