ACT plus Writing instead of SAT + SAT 2s

So I took both ACT and Sat + Sat 2s and my ACT was better.

I got a 33 w/11 essay. I know they say that they don’t discriminate against ACT plus writing. How much validity does this statement have? Am I totally screwed b/c other kids will be turning in their SAT 2s + SATs?

Help! (I applied ED)

also did any1 else do this? (or any1 who goes to Brown/accepted there?)

if they say that they give equal weight to both, then im sure it doesn't matter

okay also is a 33 too low for brown? i dont kno whether its competitive enough...i mean i have alot of other stuff going to me, but its not something they are going to scoff at rite?

It'll depend on your ECs. Brown has accepted people with a 28 on the ACT (which has given me hope since I also have a 33).

32 and up is the 99th percentile for the ACT. Of course it's not going to get you scoffed at. The median SAT score is a 29 for Brown.

I sent both ACTs and SAT/SAT IIs, and they can use whichever one they want in evaluating me.

32+ is really good, equivalent to 2200+ on the SAT. Your ACT score is fine. Have you tried the SAT?
