ACT predicament

So I'm probably applying ED for a school that has a Nov. 1 deadline. They accept all test scores until November, but I will not have found out my October ACT score by the time I apply.

I took the ACT today and did alright, but I think I can do better if I retook it in October. But there's no guarantee, so if I were to send in the October score it may or may not be better than my September score. Should I give them my September score and tell them I'm retaking it in October, or should I just leave it blank and have my October score sent straight to them?

What school are you applying to? Are you sure they don’t require you to send all ACT scores?

Northwestern. I don’t think any schools require all ACT scores.

No school can force you to send all your scores. That is why it is called score choice. The schools want you to send all the scores but it is best to do what is in your best interest…in my opinion!

Many schools, including Georgetown, Harvard, Princeton, etc. require you to send ALL of test scores. Of course they can’t “force you” to send all your scores, but it’s a requirement, and if you choose not to do it their way, you could find yourself in trouble.
