Well, I think I screwed up. I got panicky for my son and sent his ACT scores from April out the schools that he wants to go to. He is taking them again in September but I wanted to make sure they had them for early action if he chooses to. He got a 27. And it doesn’t look like I can change my mind and reverse this decision on my part or can I ? Should I ? HELP !
@Beckham2009 Well, there’s no way you can “unsend” those scores now. Regardless, all EA and ED schools accept the September sitting of the ACT.
Relax, if he takes the ACT in September, there will still be plenty of time to submit it before the EA deadlines.
Thank you ! Will we have time to look at the score and send it do you think ? Or just send it . Now THAT we can change because it’s before he takes the test.
I guess I was freaking out because I read somewhere that you should only send the highest test score but then other sites say to . So confusing and overwhelming.
Colleges profess that they use the highest scores to determine admission when you submit multiple ACT tests, with majority using that test with the highest composite and the minority the highest section scores from the multiple tests.
The Sep score should be out in time for you to see it and then immediately order it sent to comply with EA and ED deadlines but you should check the particular rules of each college. Most do not require test scores to arrive by the Nov 1 application deadline, most accept through the Oct ACT, and many even accept through the Nov SAT test. However, there are a small number of colleges that want scores in their hands by the Nov 1 application deadline (and they expressly tell you that on their websites) and for those you should consider naming the college in the test registration as one to automatically receive scores upon release, which results in the fastest form of delivery.
Most schools want to see all scores
^ No most schools do not want to see all scores. Many will state send them all and we’ll only use the highest. Some mandate sending all of any single type (SAT or ACT), some very few want to see ALL tests. Most schools are silent on whether to send anything but the minimum - a score of one test, GPA, transcript, etc.
THanks all. This is all very stressful. Thanks for giving me your insights.
