I have already improved my score 3 points to a 30. I am aiming for a 32 and do about an hour study every day in preparation for the Sept ACT since the beginning of the summer. I have completed all the tests in THE REAL ACT PREP GUIDE 3rd Edition and have skimmed over the Barrons ACT 36. I have seen a one to two point improvement since I started but what else can I do to further prepare myself?

Bump bump bump…

can I ask how do you rate the test books you have so far? I too have both books but I havent done much prep yet.

From looking at old post, the best thing for you to do right now is to just take practice tests. Lots of them!

Here’s a link to some: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/act-preparation/1384979-act-released-tests.html

I personally think that both books are great. They cover just about everything but I wish the Red Book had more practice tests.

I have a 33 and really disliked Barron’s 36. On the diagnostic I got a low 20 (and I have 36s in English and Reading!). Princeton and Kaplan worked better for me.

What were the titles of the books sg12909?

Barron’s ACT 36
Cracking the ACT (Princeton, they come out with a new one every year)
Kaplan ACT Premier (also yearly)

You can find them all on Amazon.

Are the practice tests pretty accurate?

Barron’s- No.
Princeton- fairly
Kaplan- fairly, but slightly easier
Blue book- best you can find.

When you say blue book, do you mean red book?
