what good prep books are great for ACT. I have the barrons "how to prepare for ACT assessment" 13 edition is this one good? Im new to the ACT so im not sure how things are scored. I took SATs already but not satisfied with my scores. how do u score ur practice tests?

is ACT easier than SAT? and wahts with the science section..is that part basic science?

"The Real ACT prep guide" - the only book made by the test-maker itself.

how bout for practice/drills? the real ACT prep guide book only has real questions..do u just use the questions for practice? how do u calculate composite score

Composite is just the average score of your math, reading, science, and writing (English) section. It is rounded up, I think.

The English/Writing subscore does not affect one's composite. While one user is correct in saying that "The Real ACT Prep Guide" does not provide much prep - it does provide the most accurate questions, essential to a person who doesn't know too much about the test.

so did u guys just use the questions frum "the real ACT prep guide"? no workout books? dont u kind of run out of questions after that book since it only has 3 tests? where can i get more practice.

also for those whove taken ACT, is the subject order always the same (english, math, etc) or does it get mixed up like the SAT. also wen are the breaks during the test? do we get like 5 minutes after each subject? did u guys also take SAT before? which one did u feel was easier?

I only use the Real Guide one. The thing about the ACT (i've taken it twice) is you don't need a lot of questions, you just need to know what your weaknesses are and concentrate on them. I haven't used in additional workbooks or anything. And I've found I don't even need a bajillion tests.

For me, I think its hard to improve on the ACT.

"is the subject order always the same (english, math, etc) "

I don't think so, but don't quote me on it.

I thought the subject order was the same.

I meant I think so...duh

I meant I think so...duh, I was thinking of the SAT.

the real act book is accurate obviously, but how about PR and kaplan? usually barron's prep books are too hard, but how is the act one?

I used PR and I liked it. However, my scored did go up a little (1 point) after I switched over to the official book.
