ACT Preparation and Advice

Hi, I recently didn't score as well as i wanted to on an ACT test and would like some help. I took many practice tests and did not actually go through the beginning of the books with all the tips and instructions. However, i was scoring in the 27s, 28s, and + but didn't end up doing so on the actual test. I am planning to change that and actually go through the book in depth and really focus on my mistakes. I want to know when would be a good time to start studying? Also which book to use. I am considering Kaplan ACT 2014 Premier with 6 Practice Tests: book + online + DVD + mobile because it seems to have a lot of resources. I know it is notorious for having mistakes in the practice tests but hopefully in won't affect my score that much.

Don’t buy kaplan stuff, most of the videos are online (youtube). They will save you a lot of money. Kaplan’s fee of 1000 dollars is stupid for the poor service they provide. Don’t fall into the same trap as I did!

So what should I get?
