ACT question

How good is a 27 on the ACT?

Well okay then...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACT_Exam

A 27 is an 89 percentile and between an 1860 and 1910 on the SAT scale.

Thanks for that. But is that considered a good score?

yes, it is better than 90% of the peopel who take the test, however if you are applying to a top 30 college i suggest retaking it...

in CC terms it's not a great score (nothing under 34/2300 is). for anything else though it's pretty good.

Try to get 30+, 32 if you can. A 32 will put you in the running for sure, for many colleges.

Thanks guys, I don't think I'm interested in a top 30 school. However, what about a top 50 or top 75?

What schools are you specifically looking at?

Penn St., Rutgers, Maryland, Delaware, Illinois, Wisconsin, SUNY Binghamton...

^ Also interested in Syracuse, Ohio State, Indiana, SUNY Buffalo

keep in my mind, i have around a 92,93 gpa with some honors classes

^ bump......

I don't know too much about the other places, but I know that 27 is good enough for OSU's "scholar's program" which is like a step below their honors (need a 29 for honors).

You also should get a small scholarship from OSU for a 27.

thank you, i appreciate the response.

Any other input is welcome.

I think a 27 is fine for those schools. However, the ACT seems to get easier with practice and the difference b/w a 29 and a 27 at one of those schools could be a nicer merit package. Somethin to think a/b.

^^ Yep, I definitely agree. If you could raise it just 2-3 points, you will get significantly more aid.

Appreciated guys.
