what does a 27 say?

i am not sure about what is considered a good score on the acts
so i was wondering.. how do people view a 27?

imo:
a 27 is...
too low for ivies(31+ recommended)
ok for other teir one schools but not particularly good (ex: uofM, berkley, etc...)
above average for the rest of the schools...

its in the top 10% of the country. If that is not good what is. It all depends on what college your applying too.

It really does depend on what colleges you plan on applying to. Gumba's break down was pretty accurate though, but yeah, you should remember that the average ACT test score is a 21, so a 27 isn't looking too bad.

gumba has it right. a 27 is on the low end of being competitive if you look at standardized testing and weighting it more than you should. a 29 puts you at the 50% range for most top 20--not Ivies. it won't necessarily hurt you but won't rule you out.

should read: it won't necessarily hurt you and won't rule you out.
