Do colleges take into consideration for admission as to what year the student took the ACT? For example, would achieving a 35 as a 9th grader carry any more weight than a 11 grader scoring a 35? Seems like when choosing between so many 34-36 scores it would be another degree/level to separate top applicants.
No it does not carry any more weight. A 35 is a 35.
Interesting. It seems that by any other parameter it would be. For instance, to me it would be a big differential for a 9th grader taking Calculus AB vs a junior taking AB. Even though they both reach the same level, 1 did 2 years earlier.
Scores are scores are scores. Even if someone takes it freshman year, it usually doesn’t carry any more weight than someone who took it junior year.
But would you really submit a test from 3 years earlier? It would be out of date, and not represent you as of now (when you’re applying to college). And the difference in difficulty of taking a four hour test and taking an advanced math course is big. Testing, really, isn’t terribly important.
Some school require you send all your scores, so yes. The school admissions would beg to differ. Look at the average ACT/SAT scores of students admitted…testing is very important.
ACT/SAT scores don’t really matter at a benchmark.
Edit… I was mistaken
They might require you to send in a more recent test score.
