The summer after my Freshman year, I got a 34 on the ACT. I haven't actually taken it since then, though I'm going to take it this month and hopefully get it up to a 35 or 36.

Anyway, I was just curious if the age you acquired a score mattered at all to colleges. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

It appears some colleges actually require that the tests be from years later than freshman year;one I am aware of is Carnegie Mellon which requires the tests to be from your junior or senior year, see footnote 4 in the test requirement column on this page and its explanation near bottom of page: [Admission > Academic Requirements](<a href=“Home - Computing Services - Office of the CIO - Carnegie Mellon University”>Home - Computing Services - Office of the CIO - Carnegie Mellon University)
Otherwise, for most colleges a freshman year score is acceptable and that it comes from just after freshman year makes no difference although some reviewers deciding admission may be somewhat impressed with a high score from such time but that depends on the individual reviewer.

CM will accept SAT subject test scores from freshman/soph years. I know because I asked - my child took the physics and math 2 SATs as a freshman.
Otherwise, I agree with drusba.
