Hello everyone! I'm a rising senior in high school and I took the ACT back in January and got a 26 composite score. I recently took the SAT in June and got 630 R / 670 M / 720 W (1300/2020). When looking at the ACT/SAT comparison chart my ACT score is lower, but I already had those scores sent to the colleges of my choice. The university I am most interested in is Wake Forest and because they are a Test Score Optional school I am nervous that my low ACT score will negatively affect me. I am planning on sending the June SAT scores I received to WFU, however with the ACT scores being with it, I am scared they will make me look, for lack of a better word, bad. What I wanted your all's help with is do you think if Wake sees both a 26 ACT and a 1300 SAT that they will ignore the ACT scores and focus primarily on the better SAT score?! Thank you in advance for your help! :)

Yes I would think most schools will do that

Maybe the newest score will work. does WKU use the common app? and can you just list the SAT on the common ap only?

If you send any or all of your scores they will only take the highest. Don’t worry!

when you complete the common app, you can check the box that will redact your scores from WF. That will at least indicate to them that you do not want your scores reviewed.

Good luck.

All but the very most selective schools will take your best score and most will superscore them. That means they take the best individual score from each attempt and compile them. They aren’t looking for a reason to reject you. They are looking for ways to improve their USNWR ranking. If you are in the running, and you are, they will choose the option that makes them look the best.

Thank you all so so much for all of your help! I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders because your all’s posts have made it clear I shouldn’t worry about the lower scores hurting me! I can’t thank y’all enough! :)
