So I took about ten practice tests in preparation for the ACT I'm going to be taking this Saturday on the twelfth (in two days.) I'm pretty consistent in the 33 to 35 range with the English and Math sections, vary between 29-32 with the Reading, which is pretty good. But then on the Science, I'm getting 25-27. What the heck.

I've tried everything; I've retaken just the Science portion of the test about twenty times and no matter what I do, the score just doesn't go past 27. It's driving me nuts. Are there any tips I should follow? I'm trying to keep the stress level to an all-time low because I do better under smaller amounts of stress; I do better on the English and Math sections because I don't stress it.

But any tips to improve my Science score will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

This is what has helped me.

Order

1.Do the Data Analysis passages first, they have 5 questions each.
2. Research Summaries second, they have 6 questions.
3. Save conflicting view points for last, 7 questions.

5 minutes per passage.

I mark up all graphs and label the tables.
Some people read the questions and go right the the graphs/charts. This has not helped me, but I do it if I am running out of time.

Use real ACT tests to practice with and time yourself.
Good luck

One method you can try is reading the questions before reading the passages (or even just bypassing the passages completely and just searching for answers). I use this method when doing the science sections and have scored perfect on all but one practice test (got a 36 on science last November). Good luck!
