<p>Basically, i got a Act composite score of 33 and i'm not completely sure if the score count in the top 99 percentile. I also don't know whether the Act score by itself would be good enough for some schools like Duke and Boston College. Should i bother not sending my sat score of 2060? It is a bit off from the act score.</p>
<p>If you looked at your score report, you would see that a Composite of 33 is in the 99th percentile. </p>

<p>sorry, but some of the people at my school i knew had a 35 did not get into the schools they wanted and the people that did get in were more of 32 but with 2200 SAT. I guess i’m just stressing out about being good enough for these schools.</p>

<p>^ Which concordance charts are you using? Individual colleges’ charts? ACT lists a 33 as equivalent to a 2180 while CB lists a 33 as equivalent to a 2200.</p>
<p>Yes, a 33 ACT composite is in the 99th percentile and no, you don’t need to also send your SAT score.</p>
<p>You cannot convert percentiles on the SAT and the ACT. SAT is percent at or above your score, while the ACT percentile is above your score. A 33 on the ACT is 99% using ACT’s percentile method while a 98% on the SAT’s percentile (a 32 is a 97%).</p>
<p>So that means that a 32 is equivalent to a 2130 (97%, 2120-2140), and a 33 is a 2190 (98%,2180-2200). Most concordance tables use approximations to convert, but if you want to, you can just add up the number of people with each score and find percentile equivalents on the 2010 ACT national report and SAT 2010 (CR+M+W).</p>

<p>It seems that a 75th percentile is a 34 and a 2320, I don’t think you can convert between the scores but you can get a feel of what each score is for a college.</p>

<p>i’d send the SAT. colleges say they don’t have a bias towards both tests, but i still think they do. mostly because SAT is more popular than the ACT.</p>

<p>More people took the ACT last year than the SAT, so you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.</p>
<p>There’s absolutely no harm in sending both - colleges want to release high accepted student data, so they’ll take whichever score of yours converts to a higher value according to their charts.</p>
<p>And the difference between your scores is not ghastly; they at least somewhat make sense together. And if you get rejected because of a 28 on one section, I’ll eat my hat. Well, not really, but you get the picture.</p>
