Guys, help me to put this into context. Which score looks better in the admission officer's eyes, 33 on ACT or 2200 on SAT?
I never took ACT before i don't know how to compare the two and i keep seeing chance thread where the poster has relatively low SAT and high? ACT.

they are both high scores obviously, and they are comparable i think.

I’ve seen that a 33 corresponds to a 2190, so they’re essentially equal.

If you still can’t decide/don’t care, break them down into your subscores. I would think the test results with higher scores in math/CR would look stronger.

well from what i seem, ACT looked to be a lot easier. So i felt that its unfair to kids who only took the SAT.

How is it unfair, the kids who don’t take the ACT can take it, i know kids with 96 averages who do terrible on the ACT because of the time constraints, for me i like the ACT a lot better, because it is straight forward.

Isn’t 33 99th percentile?

Yes, it is. Is 2200 99th percentile?

2200 .

2200 .

ACT seems to be easier, generally. I don’t agree that one can just match the percentiles between SAT and ACT to equate scores, since the pool that takes both isn’t really the same…

What if you superscore both tests? What are your totals then?

The ACT is not easier. I got a 1900 on the SAT and a 23 on the ACT. It just depends on where your strengths are. The ACT gives you less time, fewer breaks, and has a science section.

It depends on where you’re applying to schools, some schools prefer ACT, some prefer SAT and some don’t care, so do a little research to see if your potential school have any sort of preference.

^ i bet if you retook the ACT again now that you know the format and time constraints better you would get a way higher score

do you think colleges understand that ACT is easier?

If the ACT was easier and colleges still saw it and the SAT as the same, everyone would take the ACT.

I’d presume that people who take both and say that the ACT is easier were more suited for the ACT in the first place.

Both tests are viewed equally. Don’t buy into coastal bias.

33=1460-1500=2190

Almost identical. Send both.

They’re the same. Both are 99th percentile.

Send both just in case one gives the slightest of an advantage.
