ACT Score "Dilemma"

Hello, I am currently a high school senior and have applied to all of my colleges. My top choice is the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), and this question refers specifically to that university:

UIUC does not "super-score" but considers the highest sub-scores from each test (superscore without a new composite) as it is not necessary to make a new composite. I have taken the ACT 3 times (scores below), and have send #2 and #3 as they are better than the first. However, as I have applied to engineering, the Math sub-score is quite important. My other sub-scores are fine, but excelling in Math would help me stand out. The problem is that with the first ACT, the reading and science are not so good. Even though they only consider the highest sub-scores, won't my previous (bad) sub-scores in reading and science look bad?

ACT #1: C: 29 (E: 31 M: 35 R: 25 S: 23) - Should I submit? Good English Score + Excellent Math Score
ACT #2: C: 30 (E: 31 M: 31 R: 29 S: 29) - Submitted
ACT #3: C: 30 (E: 30 M: 32 R: 26 S: 31) - Submitted

Thank you very much.

bump

One doesn’t generally accidentally score 35 on any subsection, but doing poorly on your first attempt at some subsections because you don’t quite understand how they work is not unexpected. As they say, schools are looking for reasons to accept you, not deny you, and that 35 is worth the risk.

At some point you have to take the schools at their word and take the chance that they really will be looking only at the high results, not the low ones. I’d simply submit all three tests and let the results fall where they may.

Submit it. A lot of schools are super scoring the ACT now and a 35 in math is great!

Submit it for sure

@MrMom62 Yes - the math score was not an accident. Thank you for the advice!
