ACT Score for Early Decision

Will Carnegie Mellon accept October ACT scores if I am applying early decision. The scores come out on Nov. 8 but the application is due Nov. 1.

From the CMU Admissions page on Early Decision deadlines:

“Note about November standardized tests for Early Decision applicants:
Students can take standardized testing in the month of November and still apply Early Decision, although earlier testing administrations are strongly preferred. Please make sure you’ve indicated what future tests you’re taking on the Common Application and rush report your scores. The Office of Admission will then wait until these scores are in before making an admission decision. December testing is too late for Early Decision consideration.”

Ergo, October is going to be OK. You probably will need to have scores sent directly from ACT. Call CMU and ask if you need to have them rushed, and definitely indicate on your common app. that scores are en route.
