Hello all,

I took the special testing ACT in June and was wondering if any of you could answer some of my questions.

When are special testing with writing test scores released? I know they only come in the mail but do any of you know how long it takes for them to arrive?

Will my percentile be compared to those who have taken the same version of the test this year and in the past or will I be compared to everyone who took a test in June 2013?

Will my test be scaled/curved based on the previously administered test or based on the general June 2013 curve? (I believe I know the answer but would like it to be reinforced)

Would I be correct if I said that colleges will not know that I took the test with accommodations?

Just out of curiosity, did any of you take the special testing ACT for June 2013?

Thank you...

My son took it early March and it was in the mail when we came back from spring break, the end of March. I’m assuming that it is scored right along with the rest of the test takers and not special. I do not know if it shows up any different for the schools. Since he did well, and he has issues, I have no trouble stating it in application

No, your test is on the same curve as other students. Otherwise it wouldn’t be standardized.

No, colleges won’t know you took it with accommodation.

Thanks fourkidsmom maybe I will get it before the 25th if I’m lucky!

BeardofZeus this is what I thought. But if my test was different than the June 8th test (which I’m assuming it is) do you know curve/scale will be based on?

@standardizethis - while test takers can take different forms of a test, the curve is similar for each form. If you took the December test today and the June test tomorrow, your score should be the same.

Standardizethis,

I took the Sep. 2013 special ACT. Can you answer the questions you asked in June? i.e. what date you took the last part of test and when did you receive the results?

Thanks.

I took the test in the afternoon on 6/11 and it took me about 5 weeks to get my scores (sorry, I don’t remember the actual date). I only received them in the mail because I signed up for the test through the mail. I would definitely expect it to take 5-6 weeks from the testing date, but I don’t think that will affect you if you if you are applying to schools in October/November. Check with your counselor to be sure.

this is the first time i am taking the ACT w accommodations of time and a half …can someone please tell me how it works? so its time and a half on each section including the writing and whatever time i dont fully use goes to next section?
also do they give us a break in between each section or half way?
