Has anyone heard that the curve on the SAT or the ACT is usually greater on the June tests? I've heard this from many people but I was never really sure. Any response would be greatly appreciated.

theres a curve??? how does that work? yesssssss im taking mine in june

Greater meaning that it's easier to get a higher score? Or that it's a harsher curve?

I would like to know as well

the only way to know is to ask CB, and they won't tell you.

I took the ACT last June and last October.

The only section I scored higher in during the June test was the English portion -- a 34 in June and then a 29 in October.

My math scored remained the same at a 24, but math really isn't my strong point.

In both the reading and science sections, I scored higher in October. My reading score went from 26 to 29 and science was from 23 to 27.

But I ended up with the same composite score of 27 for both June and October.

Of course, this is just my experience.

There's no way to know.

There is no "better date" to take the SAT. Here's an explanation of the College Board process for making scores comparable.

Why bother. Colleges will look at not only your score but also dates. They will use both score and percentile instead of merely evaluating your score.

There IS a way to know.... if you order the score booklet back.

For example, I ordered mine from the December 2007 ACT....
English is as follows
Score--# Correct
36 -- 75
35-- 73-74
and so on.

I'm not ordering the booklet back from June's ACT unless I'm really curious. If people who ordered the booklet scanned it and posted it, or type it up (at least the part from ~30-36 so that we can get an idea on the scale.

haha, are you serious? COOLIO!!! but is it good or bad? and how does it work?
i took it in june for the first time, got a small raise in my usual W score, a normal CR score, and a kind of ish low M score.
