ACT vs new SAT

Does anyone have a clear sense of the advantages of taking the new SAT versus taking ACT's? Do students with particular strengths or weaknesses do better on one than the other? Of course, no one has taken the new SAT yet, so it's hard to compare. But it would be very helpful if people who have taken both the old SAT and the ACT would comment. Also, if you chose one over the other, why? Do you do the same sort of prep for both? Thanks in advance.

No Writing Difference. I Hate The New Sat.

ACT tends to measure overall academic understanding; whereas, SAT is more of a prep test. I took the ACT twice, and received the same score both times. I took the SAT three times and went up a total of 150 points. Your SAT score tends to improve over time due to new HS classes. Personally, I think the ACT is easier, but the time constraints can be hard. You don't have a lot of time to think some sections through (the only part I ran out of time on was the science section). Science SUCKS on the ACT, but the other sections are pretty easy. The SAT, on the other hand, gives you a lot of time, but the questions are harder. To improve your SAT score I recommend learning some verbal "tricks" (find the book "Up Your Score"). Anway, if you have any more questions you can e-mail me. Good luck!
