Alright so here is the deal: I'm an 18 year old male who is graduating 1 semester early from highschool this year. I am currently studying to become an EMT but from there I wish to study to become a Physicians Assistant (PA). Lately I have been freaking out about college coming up and I needed somewhere to get some advice so I came on this website. My dilemma right now is this: is it better to take the SAT or the ACT? I live in California and would like to continue to go to school here. Do schools in California accept the SAT more often over the ACT or vice versa? Someone please help! Thank you.

Colleges will often tell you that they accept the SAT and the ACT, and most higher level institutions do. However, just check your potential colleges’ websites to see what tests they take. Id take a practice test for both online and then see which one you score in a higher percentile on. Use that data to determine which test to take, using the higher of the two. Its also not a bad idea to take both officially if you want to send two Saturday’s taking tests.
