Im applying early to UPenn, and I've heard from everyone 'SATs and ACTs count exactly the same'

Now I think this is a very valid point, if the applicant is from the Midwest where taking the SAT is rare.

But I am from southern california, and although my SAT score is manageable, my ACT is 70 points higher.

Now my question is, do you really think that they count the two tests equally? Or do you think its just rhetoric, and they will look more at my SAT than my ACT?

ummm they weight them equally. i know some schools accept both but prefer sat but act should be fine. i would send the ACT score if its 70 points higher. i have a friend who sent ACT to harvard and not SAT and got in so, i dont think penn will discriminate

he is also from arizona where 99.9% of the people dont know what the ACT is

Actually the ACT has one advantage at UPenn -- it is accepted in lieu of both the SAT and SAT II's so you don't even have to take II's if you rely on it for admission there.
