my friend stabbed my hand with a pencil the other day by accident. but this is irrelevant

what i really want to ask is how colleges look at the acts.

I know colleges look at the SATs separate sections. like, they will look at your 700 reading, 800 writing, 700 math. they look at your composite as well, but they mostly take into consideration the different sections

but what about ACTs? do they look at the composite more, or do they mostly care about your individual sections more?

i'd say composite, because some of my apps didn't even ask for the individual scores, they only want the composite score. (ex. USC)

Yea. I think composite is more important.

why is that anyway???

well, when you look at the admit stats that colleges post, they usually show each SAT section separately and then the composite for ACT....IDK

well i would assume they obviously look mostly at the composite, but they probably put some consideration into the different sections. the applications may only ask for your composite, but when you send your scores in they will have the section scores. the only way i would really think it'd matter is if you were in a certain situation..ex: if you want to go to an engineering school and you have a 30 act composite, with a 24 math and science and 36 english and reading they might have to think twice.
