Hey. for some background, I am a pretty smart kid (I would like to think) take all honors classes and do well in all of them. But when it comes to the ACT writing I really do awful on it. my last act (an in school mandatory state exam) I got a 34 which I was happy with, but an 8 on the writing. In fact, almost all of my friends in AP lang/comp got 7-9 on writing, while the kids I know who are horrific writers or took prep classes got like 10-12. Anyways, is it worth it to take the exam again to improve my writing score. Also, can you use the writing score from one exam with the regular score for another exam? for example, if i took it again in june and got a 32, 10 on writing. could i use the 10 with my 34? thanks

I wouldn’t retake the ACT with a 34, if it was only to improve the writing score. The ACT writing is not that important, and a score of 8 is still above average. Good luck.
