ACT Writing Question?

Hi! I took the ACT for the first time on July 14th. I was wondering if not following the directions on the optional essay could dock ALL subscores that make up your writing score. I forgot to contrast my perspective with the GIVEN perspectives; instead, I only debated against stuff I made up (instead of what the instructions say, which is to debate against the givens) and only realized I missed the point of the essay when it was too late. I was hopeful that my grammar/punctuation/usage would make up for this, but each of my subscores is an 8, which I find to be unusual/coincidental. By not following the directions, were my other (unrelated) scores docked/capped? Thanks!

I’m pretty sure they don’t grade by looking at each individual subscore and instead just give you an overall grade and apply it to every subscore (due to the lack of time). If you feel that you were graded unfairly you can ask for a rescore.
