How do you guys master the ACT writing? I took the ACT for the first time in April and got an 8 on my essay. I thought it was a pretty good, well developed essay but that obviously was not the case.

What "formula" do you guys follow to get 11s and 12s?

Thanks a bunch!

come on guys. I know there are tons of you out there with a way to get 11s or 12s ;)

write 3.25 or more pages. Plain and simple.

Have preset examples the day before.
For example, have a book that you will definitely use as an example in some way. Fit it to the prompt.

^ false. Unimportant. On the ACT Length is the cruicial factor. both times my examples have been **** and I got 2 11s…

Awesome! Thanks a bunch guys :)

Aren’t we solely enabled to use a pencil for this portion? I was looking at one of Barron’s books and it stated that we could use a pen.

I hate how you can’t even use a mechanical pencil. The proctor says right before the essay explicitly that you aren’t aloud to use one. If that wasnt said, I could have sneakily used it, but I didn’t want to risk the proctor seeing and voiding my score.

I always use mech. pencil. Didn’t last time cause I forgot to bring it, but they arent scanning the writing now are they?

You solely need to fill up the portion provided to acquire a sufficient score?
