"Acted on" status??!

same boat as all of you.

all my friends have received their acceptances (more than 9 of them), and i am the only one that hasn’t yet. i’m ranked #2 in my class, both my brother AND sister are current students, and i have been accepted by BU, ND, UCB, UCLA, and UCI.

hopefully i can add USC to that list.

Don’t want to sound too negative, but I’ve been all over CC today and have yet to see a fall admit today whose status says the decision has been sent. Hope I’m wrong though.

I just got the “acted upon” status today, and I thought to myself, “Well, I’m rejected.” And felt all sad for a while.

THEN, I checked the backdoor link, just in case, and when I went to it, all of my information was filled out, and it was asking things about housing and summer orientations. I heard that means an acceptance!

So not all hope is lost, my friends. There are still acceptances left to be sent out!

What statuses have you had before?

I don’t recall exactly, but it was just recently the “forwarded” status.

@lesliehr

can i ask where to find the links for the backdoor method?_? i’m not sure which one to use since so many people posted so many versions of it.

Already tried backdoor, not working, sighs.
At this point, I don’t think it’s possible to be admitted with the ‘acted on’ status while none of the backdoors are working…or someone prove me wrong?
Congrats lesliehr!

And oh, crescent, I tried
https://usconnect.usc.edu:447/Render/ServiceRender/AdmUGCertification.aspx</a>
https://usconnect.usc.edu:447/Render/ServiceRender/SpringResRsvp.aspx</a></p>

I recall there’s another one, but couldn’t find it at the moment, sorry bout that.

mimizist, don’t look into the statuses so much.

A friend got admitted for Spring on Friday (3/26) and his status is still on forwarded. You have just as much a chance as lesliehr had.

^ At this point, I actually believe having ‘forwarded’ is a better sign than ‘acted on’. Most spring admits are still on this forwarded status while most rejects were acted on.

It’ll be over in just a day or two…and after that I won’t get to ‘look into the statuses’ anymore lol. Besides, backdoors are a much more reliable indication of admission. Not to say every person who has been admitted has the link working, but clearly all of those who were able to access the links received their acceptance very soon afterwards.

Thanks though, TrojAndrew, and to all of you out there for being so supportive until the very last moment. It’s been an amazing experience with so much warmth and encouragement going around on this forum.

Think lots of different things are going on with the USC admission process all at the same time.

While some of us (like me in NoCal/SJC) got rejected, others may still get accepted. I can say that getting a letter has put closure on this process and I no longer need to “make sense” of the status changes or lack thereof. That was not fun although it did have its entertaining moments.

Yes, I do wonder “why me” now that I am rejected but I do feel that this year more than others, W-GPAs have mattered more than ever. Test scores have as well but not as much. Just lots of qualified candidates in the mix so schools like USC can be pickier than ever.

Happy to have gotten into some decent schools, given all this.

Again, good luck to all of you and may you end up in a decent school like USC. You deserve it!

have the links that minimizt posted worked for everyone who got admitted before they got their letter???

GUYS, calm down!

I really think that everyone’s status changes to acted on at this time. Mine went from forwarded –> reviewed –> acted on (yesterday) and I got my fall acceptance in the mail yesterday.

Clearly, they are not done accepting! I am CLAS/biology major, and I live in CT.

Chelseaaa217…WAY TO GIVE HOPE GIRL!!! So happy for you…and for all those who are checking status to “acted upon”…see there…people do get accepted with that status!!!

Hey everyone! The backdoor link I used was
https://camel2.usc.edu/AdmCertification/Commit.aspx</a>

I put in my USCID and my birthday and up popped the enrollment deposit form. (Truth is, I don’t know if I am accepted for the spring or the fall…hopefully the fall though!)

Good luck to everyone!

ah chelseaaa217! can you please post your stats, this just gave me a spark of hope

Package came today…and it was for Fall, and Annenberg!! My family and I are shocked beyond words…

My USConnect had forever said (up until this week) “Thank you for submitting your online application…” I felt rejection was imminent. Just yesterday, I was “acted upon”.

congrats leslie! thats awesome

My status changed to ‘acted upon’ today, and the backdoor link worked for me today. I can pay the $300 enrollment commitment

Brief stats:
4.28 UW GPA, 4.64 W
2230 SAT

go through my old posts for the extreme details… but still, i think you all have time!!

chelsea, if you dont mind me asking, where in ct do you live??
