I'm preparing to enter my senior year at an arts magnet high school in NC. I've been big into theatre my entire life and over the years I've gotten pretty good, I definately have a bunch of experience, and I'm totally driven and dedicated. Still I really need as much advice as possible for my auditions. Emerson is my DREAM school so any information regarding their auditions other than the basic stuff on their website would definately be appreciated. Also I'm planning definately on auditioning for BU, SUNY, NYU, and considering about a billion others. Currently my combined SAT is 1930 (second time taking) and my ACT composite is 30 (first time), although I'm planning on retaking both this fall. My junior year I took 3 APs and I'm planning on taking 4 or 5 for my senior year. Currently my GPA is around 4.12. Any other school suggestions based on that info would be helpful, although I'm mainly looking for advice on auditions. Thanks!

Hello ilovemacbeth< well i don't have a lot of experience with theater and auditions but as far as a know if you have a solid acting and talent you will be ok in any auditions, plus your grades are no bad at all and maybe if you can pull it up a little more will definitely give you good shot in most of top theater schools...
i would like to add some schools to your list:
Carnegie Mellon
North Carolina School of the Arts
Boston University
Ithaca college
Yale
Otterbein
There are tons of exellent schools , just remember to choose one that best fits you ....

Just another comment.. Ihad the chance to visit NYU this week and i was very impressed with their faculty facilities and program...plus it's NYC there is no better place in the USA when it cames to theater..

As long as you keep up with what you have been doing grade wise, you have NOTHING to worry about there...you have the grades to get into the schools, and that's at most 50% of the decision, usually much much less, so don't worry about grades, what you need to do (like, now) is start your search for a couple monologues that you love and do lots of research on schools, and figure out where and when you will audtion and start getting organized!
