Acting schools in the Midwest?

I've heard a lot about schools on the east coast and such, but no so much about schools in the midwest. I'd like to check some of those schools out before I head farther from home. So what are some of the good ones?

Do you mean colleges with acting programs, or non-academic studios where you can train?

Either of them would be fine

If you have Ivy-level academic stats, Northwestern University outside of Chicago has a very strong theatre BA. The curriculum is quite flexible, so students can focus on performance to create a BFA-like program in straight acting and/or audition for the MT Certificate program and/or double major. Over 60 productions (mainstage and student-produced) are mounted each year and any student can audition for any production on campus.

what about Depaul in Chicago? U Minn also has well regarded BFA and BA programs. Kenyon and U Cincinnati also come to mind.

DePaul, CCPA/Roosevelt, Columbia College Chicago, U Minn, Ball State, U Michigan, CCM for starters

My son is at CCPA now (well, not RIGHT now, he’s home for Xmas) and loving every minute of it.

Off the top of my head add Evansville, Illinois Wesleyan, Otterbein, and Indiana University to the list in the mid-west schools. Further west look at the program at Wyoming.

Webster University

UIC is where my son is–loving every moment. Excellent theatre program.

where is UIC?

University of Illinois at Chicago=UIC.

Another good BA theater program: Kenyon College.

Thank you all! This was really helpful!
