I dont have the citizenship which means no naval academy, and Marine is going to be the option for me to enlist and gain a citizenship.
I was wondering, does USNA look at my high school grade during enlistment option admission. Also should I apply during senior year to show that I am heavily interested?
here's my high school grade,
I have B+ average overall, 3 AP classes, 2000 in SAT
I took SAT II: chemistry, US history, European History, and physics.
I was awarded a Billy Mitchell Award in CAP.
Debate club (varsity), STEM club, and Invention club.
4 year of track, and 1 year of cross country

and I am going to apply to New Mexico Military Institute for academy prep.

Is this right decision? and right amount of gpa to be competetive?

If you’re enlisting in the Marines, do what your told to do, go beyond and be the best devil dog you can be, then what you can try to do is get recommendation from your CO to attend the Naval Academy Preparatory School; which after a successful year will recieve an appointment to USNA. I’ve heard that not many enlisted apply for the service academies because of other easier alternatives to becoming an officer (meaning easier for those who do apply).

From looking at what you’ve told about yourself, I’d say you have a good if not high chance of being a candidate for NAPS after enlistment. At NAPS they can take care of your citizenship there too.

If your eyes are set at the Academy and not just for commissioning then this is the route for you. If you have anymore questions let me know.
