Activities

On each line for the activities section, there is not enough room for me to write all my piano accomplishments that I wish to put down. Should I just split them up into two-three different parts, or just attach a resume?

Also, would it be a good idea to say I played the piano for 10 years, or is that irrelevant?

Finally, do most people send in a separate resume (very similar to common app) on top of their common application to colleges like Duke and WashU in St. Louis?

I would not do that. If you want to send in anything, send in information that is not available on your common application: the admission officer only spends a certain amount of time reading each app unless, of course, say if something in the files catches his/her attention and requires more detailed review. A separate resume that seems to list all the things already mentioned on the common app may be shoved to the side and simply overlooked.

Sure, why not? For instance, you can subtly express that by saying “my 10-year piano experience” instead of “my piano experience” somewhere.

Either can work.
