Actual decision date

people are only saying friday night because last year people got their acceptances on March 26. so there is no real confirmation on anything, just assumptions based on previous stats

Waiting is seriously raising my blood pressure or something lol I might have a heart attack before I even get to find out what my admission decision is.

Good luck to everyone! It can’t be long now…

My college counselor called BU two days ago, and an admissions rep verified that most of the notifications would go up on the 26th, though there is a chance that it will be pushed back to the 29th for some decisions.

Any idea what time tomorrow they’ll be posted?

Getting nervous. :(

just called BU asking if descisons would be posted tomorrow.
they said “well, we really don’t know. were still in the process of finalizing things, but we assure you it’s no later than April 1.” me- so you really just don’t know? them "-laugh- yes, we just don’t know. "

they so know.

they definitely know.

last time for gw I called to ask when and they said they didn’t know. that same afternoon they sent me an email saying decisions would be posted that same day 6:00 pm …THEY ALWAYS KNOW

This is from an employee in the admissions office at UChicago:

For clarification: the reason we do not announce a firm admissions notification date is for our own convenience, really: so we don’t have to worry about missing it (which, trust me, would be more stressful on you or our staff than not knowing ahead of time). We send out decisions as soon as we are able to, but part of decision sending involves a lot of human checking and re-checking on our part to ensure that everything is correct: it can take, sometimes, 3 days to go through everything, stuff envelopes with decisions, ensure correct names are getting correct decisions going to correct addresses, and re-check everything again just to be sure. If something is incorrect? We search through everything to make it right. If the mail-man or our delivery man accidentally drops all of the admissions letters in a mud puddle outside our office? We do it all again. It’s a lot of work from our side, and it really sucks for us if we wind up not being able to make a deadline. It’s also very important to us to make sure that all paper decisions go out at the same time, and that e-mail decisions are appropriately staggered. The lack of deadline isn’t out there to bother you- we’ve spent all year deciding who we want for next year’s class, and we want you to know as soon as possible, so that you can make your final decision (and hopefully, choose us!). But, most of the time, it’s just not realistic for us to let you know when you will know ahead of time, because often we really don’t know when everything is going to be ready to send out, and won’t be able to account for our own quibbles if we run in to difficulty.
Also, for this reason, please please do not call our office or e-mail your regional admissions counselor to ask when decisions will be released. For all of the reasons listed above, we will not be able to give you a date, so the call is unnecessary. If you have questions other than that relating to admissions, overnight visits, and the like, you may still feel free to contact us.

However, chances are that decisions will be tomorrow, at 4 or 5 pm. Good luck to everyone. And, THEY KNOW!!!

They so know.

hahahaha welllll, good luck everyone <3 <3
(hopefully and probably its tomorrow)

"me- so you really just don’t know? them "-laugh- yes, we just don’t know. "

they so know."

LOL. probably :]

Stress stress stress. And it’s the 26th here in Hong Kong too! GAH, have to keep reminding myself its US East Coast time :(

So we will hear from BU by tomorrow or at least before April 1st? That will be great.

I feel like throwing up. My financial aid page has been a mess the past few days, and not it just says that the application for financial aid is incomplete but it doesn’t say what’s missing-- maybe they just gave up on me because the decision has already been made that I’m not going to be accepted? It says that a fafsa correction form was received by the office but I never sent one! Maybe they just put it in the system so that they can pass on the application of those who were rejected and work on those accepted?
I’m going to be a wreck at school tomorrow. I’m so nervous, and so uncertain.

@ fliesbackwards

Just relax! You should call them and let them know that your financial aid has a few errors. From what I’ve seen so far BU has been very organized since the beginning of the application process so I doubt that they put in something randomly to just “pass on” the application.

haha, jhopeful, you’re right. I don’t know where my mind is, I should really stop taking all the speculations so seriously. Thank you.

Called BU Admissions.

Basically, she said they’re not allowed to tell me the exact date but it will “be before the end of the month” and I should “check my BU web account because it will be posted there first.” “It’ll be soon, don’t worry!”

…Reeeeallly hoping it’s today!

I’m pretty certain that the decisions came out in the evening (I want to say 6ish) last year. It was the Friday, as you all know. Anyways, I remember the night vividly. It pretty much solidified that I was heading to BU. I was unbelievably excited then & hope all of you feel the same way tonight (or whenever decisions go out!)

GOOD LUCK!! Don’t stress too much. Chances are very good that wherever you end up, you’ll be happy.

called BU again. asked them if it would come out today. got ****ed when she said “in the next couple of days. before April 1”. said I was very nervous and asked you really really don’t know at all? “sorry. before April 1.”
the anger I have is asdfgjhkl

They’re not allowed to tell you. That’s what they always say.

is the financial aid package released the same time as the actual decision?
