[] Essays: Very very good…as told by a handful of people who’ve read them. They were extremely personal and dealt with hard topics on race, finances, struggle, adversity, and even marriage and how I hope college will open up more doors and opportunites never offered to me before. (Without a doubt, my essays definitely pushed me into the admit pile. Thank you for AP English Language and my awesome teacher!) Plus, I really enjoyed my “Why Brown” essay; theatre and biology were definitely interesting topics to talk about and why I like them! AND…my essay on an academic experience was pretty cool and unusal as well–I’m sure it matched well with the Brown community
[] Teacher Recs: I read one and it teared me up. She knows me well and she was able to pull in some personal touches to it and was also able to talk about my home life. The other, written by my AP English Language teacher, I’m sure was just as personal.
[] Counselor Rec: I did not read this, but imagine it was probably similar to the others.
[] Hook (if any): um yeah, were all URM! Essays, Arts Supplement (I wrote a play), Major theatre experience (competitions), Science Supplement, first generation college student, low-income

Hands down the most awesome school on the planet! (No core curriculum, classes are pass/no credit, and Emma Watson is rumored to be going there next fall!!!) I’m surprised that we are the only two–perhaps that is one of the reasons why I was admitted from the waitlist…haha…but I’m not complaining! Congrats to you too! Like you, I’m sure, I can’t wait for next fall!
