Actuarial Mathematics Majors?

I am possibly thinking about majoring in this field, but I am quite worried about the exams. Is anyone pursuing this field? Just would like to ask a few questions.

Thanks,
MHailJ

I’m not pursuing, but I’ve taken a few of the classes those kids take. It’s not a terribly difficult major (as quantitative majors go), but it apparently does well to prepare you for the first few exams. I think it’s the type of subject matter that just requires a certain amount of studying, rather than shear intellect. If you put in enough work, you can succeed. I would talk to Professor Curtis Huntington when you get to campus.

I was going to drop by the Mathematics Department to ask a few more questions and speak with an math advisor- is this professor involved in the actuarial program?

Yes. 10 char
