Adderall, etc.

What are some cons of using Adderall for studying? Are B12 supplements or ritalin better than Adderall for this purpose?

My friend takes adderall before he does his homework/studies, he tells me he gets really focused and is like a zombie never coming out of his room. He also takes them before tests and Aces them. Im not sure about B12 or ritalin though...

what does adderall do? how does it make him act his test/

adderall is a pill for people with ADD to make them be more focused on homework/studies/tests. On his tests it makes him more focused, but its more effective when you study.

ohhh gotchaa

haven't tried it, but i have a friend who uses

if you use it regularly, you can start losing confidence in your ability to focus without adderall. my friend actually puts off her homework until she can take her weekly dose of adderall because she thinks she's stupid and can only study when she's high. it also hurts your ability to develop study skills and encourages cramming (if you have a finite number of pills and start saving all your work for certain nights). but if you only take it occasionally (once or twice a semester) you should be fine

also, you crash afterwards

Thanks! That sounds good... The possible dependency does bother me...

is it usable for ppl that pretty much cant keep off the internet (mainly email, facebook, and CC)?

im dead serious

make sure you know how it affects you before you use it before a big test or something...i took it before the act and i got all jittery, got a fever, a headache, and even threw up right after i finished my essay. it kinda sucked but then i took a 5 hour nap and i was ok.

it affects people differently so just be sure to test it

My suggestion is don't take it unless you have ADD and a doctor subscribes it to you. I have heard it doesn't work for some people so don't just take it without talking to a doctor. I have also heard that there may be some long-term side affects from taking adderall. Who knows...

I feel this way too. I'm online 7 hours a day... and I never get homework done. =[

Or u can get a trial pill...like take it when it's not as important (just reg. hw or whatever) so you figure out how it works.

Some side effects are:
Hypertension
Slowing of Growth
Loss of appetite
weight loss
emotional lability
depression
stomachache
nervousness
vomiting

the steroids of the academic world

sad to say, i'm right there with post # 8 :(

i've tried it a few times. the side effects are very harsh, but it's definitely helpful for studying. i worked for 12 hours straight one time.

whoaa, this sounds awesome. how do u get your hands on some...;)

What were the side effects?

If you really want to work on your Homework or study then you can with or without adderall. All it takes is determination. Turn of your computer take all your books and materials, and go into a quite room or a library and just get all of your work done! Then when your done if you have time go on the computer if not, then forget about it! CC will be here tomorrow but that homework assignment wont...

^ sorry about the grammar wrote this quickly

Ehh....but like for giant tests.....I just don't have the determination I need to do 6 straight hours of chem

Besides I heard it makes you lose your appetite too. So you do more work and lose weight. Sounds like a miracle to me.
