Hey everyone, filling out my UC application here. When I am adding my classes like English 101 and Sociology 101, I took them within the Honors core program at my CCC. I am TAP certified but there is no drop down choice when adding classes for Honors designation.

Is there a way to add them as Honors courses? Should I add the classes myself?

Help please

When I added my classes the drop-down listed honors; try again. Or maybe it’s your college class list that’s different.

I called the UC help line. They said as a transfer student there is no way to indicate whether a class was Honors or not. They told me to add it to the additional comments section or call the admissions office of the schools I was applying too and ask how they would like me to show them I took 5 Honors Courses.

That’s really odd. I’m sure it has to do with the way your specific CC lists its classes if that’s the case. I can assure you that there was an honors designation in my drop-down box; I did not manually put in any of my classes.

Example: When I was adding English 101 it gave me two options:
-English 101
-English 101H

In any case if you continue to have problems with the honors thing call up the schools you want to apply to and ask; perhaps someone else in this forum can help you since I’m useless lol

After I saw this post, I went back to the UC application and double checked, as I was wondering the same thing when entering my courses. However, my CCC does not list them as such.

Being an engineering major, I’m not eligible for any of the “honors transfer” programs, but nevertheless I joined the HTP. I wanted to list the honors courses “just to make a good impression”, but did not find them specifically listed so. So I’ve indicated in the comments section that English 1B (literature), English 1C (Critical thinking) and Speech 4 (Arg. and Debate) were honors courses taken to meet HTP requirements.
