If I have nothing to add, and leave the 'additional comments' section blank, will the admissions officers see this negatively, or will it matter?

Where is it at? I have been looking for it but could not find it.

doesn't matter at all if you leave it blank.
If you don't have anything important to add, then don't bother taking time thinking of some BS to write.. it's not worth the time and effort.

Some things to write about in the "additional comment" section:
- Explanation of Poor academic performance (Suffering from certain type of disability, death of family member, accidents, etc.)
- Explanation of why you skipped a quarter (or a year) between academic terms (full-time work to support family, moving back to home country for emergency, etc.)
- Explanation of significance of particular course (for example, I wrote in the additional comment box about how I got a B in Calculus I, which was a pre-req for my major, but ending up with an A in Calculus II and how that is an evidence that I fully understand the concept of calculus very well.)
- Reporting A.P. scores (what I did)

Can't think of any other things to write about but I'm sure there are more. If you do not have any of the above things to write about, then don't worry about it.

I do not mean to steal the thread or ask the same question twice but where on the online application is the additional comments box?

it is at the very end. It comes after the first two personal statments
