Additional Information? 2000 words...?

There's a section for additional informations and I hear that putting your resume there is a relatively a safe idea, but what I was wondering was would it be okay if I add in another essay there?

I already have an essay I want to use for the main Common App Essay as well as the Short Answer (not perfect but am polishing them atm) but I also have another essay that portrays another facet of me (my immigration aspect).

I tried to avoid any "immigrant"type stuff from my application. I know that most of the immigrant students will be writing about their "coming to USA" deal and so I avoided that but my "immigrant" essay :P doesn't focus on the language or cultural barrier, it talks about my relations with my family and the the qualities I want to show the colleges about myself.

Would it be a good idea to put that essay there or send in as a miscellaneous supplement?

Thanks!

I think putting an essay there is fine.

It’s 2000 characters though, not 2000 words so that may limit you (you can upload a document though).

Ah, I misread it :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks! 2000 Characters should be plenty for the essay and I guess I will upload a student evaluation from my summer program and a resume ^_^

I found that a 2000 character essay is around 300 words. So you guys think that putting an anecdotal essay under “additional information” is acceptable?

Around 350 words. Definitely not enough for a proper essay, and an essay would be inappropriate anyway.

How is 350 words not enough for an essay? Most of the essays I’ve written are 250-300 words
