Hello,

I've got a couple questions applying to "Additional Information" section on the writing tab of the CA.

1.) I just noticed that there is a 1000 character limit when copying and pasting your info into the text box. However I can upload a document and have it be 5000+ characters without it cutting off. Are colleges strict towards this 1000 character limit? It seems like I'm always reading where students upload their resume's to the additional info spot and haven't had much/ any repercussions for passing the limit.

OK, now assuming I can go over the 1000 character cap. I plan on talking about these things:

Special Circumstances - I was diagnosed with ADHD very late in my academic life (late in my sophomore year). Since then my grades have improved tremendously.

Founded a business - I founded a business approx. 1 year ago. Since then I have made over $7,500 and sold to customers in over 10 different countries. (I apologize for being vague about my business, but since it is an online company I don't want my customers finding this page and finding out I am a teenager ;)).

5th Graders - Twice a week I meet with a group of 5th graders and teach them about technology by building computers and creating websites with them.

The Questions I have are:

2.) I feel that it is important I mention my ADHD and how I only started to get treated for it very late in High School. Do you think that I should write this as more of a 1-2 personal paragraph essay or I should just state the facts?

3.) I am relying on the business I created to really differentiate myself from other students. My grades are adequate at best (3.5 GPA) and while I take mostly AP or honors classes I know that without my business I wouldn't have a chance at any of the colleges I am applying to. I thought I read somewhere that you shouldn't use an activity/ EC as your personal essay, but do you think it would be my best option to write about my business as a personal essay and not as additional information?

4.) While I would like to go into more detail about teaching 5th graders, I don't think I would have to. Do you think it is unique enough to put in the additional information?

Thank you for reading this, I know I kind of ramble on sometimes. If you have advice towards just one of my questions please let me know.

Thanks
