I was thinking about writing about a specific class that I did poorly in (it was an exception and I didn’t want to write about it in my personal statement since there was a lot I wanted to talk about).
Is this going to be considered acceptable or not? It says do not add to your personal statement here, and while this COULD be put into the PS it also states “any additional information that may assist the Admissions Office.”

I was in the same situation as you, and in my PS I had referenced my poor performance early in high school but very vaguely so it wouldn’t shift the focus of the essay. I had asked my guidance counselor whether I should elaborate in the additional information or not, and she said that it would be better to explain myself than say nothing. I wrote more about what happened, why, and how things have changed since there so that the office can better understand why my GPA is lower than my ACT score and academic rigor would suggest.
