Hi,
I want to write about some familial matters that don’t go under any other category. But I know that the “Additional Information” can be used for other things like other extracurriculars and or some cool and unusual awards and qualifications, and those would be brief and bullet-point style. But can I go about writing my topic like I would an essay? That would include things like dialogue and commentary/insight on my experiences, etc. Would that be weird or acceptable?
Thank you so much!!!
I want to also learn more about this. I was wondering if I can write about me moving from another country to United States in “Additional Information.”
Bump. I have the exact same question!
Anything that is not covered elsewhere on your app is fine in this section, but it should be short, concise and meaningful IMO.
I would not advise another ‘essay’. But I also don’t think is HAS to be bullets. A few concise sentences to convey some notable details about an EC or award, for example, that couldn’t fit in the short description field, or a note about some unusual circumstance.
It may be more appropriate in some cases, possibly your ‘family situation’, that this info be covered in your GC rec, if that’s possible, so you wouldn’t even have to mention it or could focus briefly on some aspect important to you. That very much depends on the situation and is a personal decision.
I’ll briefly check with my counselor about that. Thanks, you rock!
