"Additional information"?

I'm filling out apps and i come upon this box under the headline "additional information." What should i put here? anything significant? Am i supposed to be creative with my response?

It is an optional place to put relevant info that was not asked for elsewhere, or to clarify something you filled in elsewhere.

For example, lets say you have a job that varies from 2 hrs a week in 'low season' to 20 hours a week during busy times. You put the job down on your EC list, and it asks you to state "hrs per week." You don't want to mislead by picking "11 hours" so you could explain this under "additional information."

Thanks SBmom. Could i write about personal issues like specifically why i changed schools after freshmen year? In addition, because my school is so small (150 students) i've taken 4 classes at other institutions. Is that info meant for this box or will adcoms just be able to figure it out on their own?

Yes, these are exactly the sort of issues that can be explained; whatever you consider pertinent that doesn't fit elsewhere on the app.

I don't think you should talk about math and science being hard for you. It will be obvious from your grade and score. No point in giving an excuse.

I've started writing something and its sounding very much like a personal essay. Is that okay or should i just keep it dry and brief?

if it is a paragraph or two it should be fine.

its like 350 words :)
Is that bad?

bump......

I really wouldn't worry over it. I dont really think it is the place for a whole new essay, but a few paragraphs elaborating on an extra-curricular is not going to kill your chances. After all, if they don't want to read it, they don't have to.

how about financial problems...?

......bump
