so I got deferred from Yale yesterday, and I'm kinda paranoid it's because one of my letters of recommendation (from teacher) wasn't good?
now, I'm thinking of asking my senior english teacher (she LOVES me) for a recommendation. but I already submitted by princeton app. is there any way I can send in a 3rd teacher rec?

If you want to send in additional recommendations. When I visited, the admissions officer suggested capping all recommendations at 5 (including secondary school reports, etc.) so that’s what I did. Submitting a third teacher rec wouldn’t hurt if it’s good. Besides, they wouldn’t be able to tell one teacher rec from another. Go ahead and do it, because I see no reason otherwise.

thanks, but I was asking how. haha. like does she mail it? since there’s not way to submit it on commonapp

Mail it.

And please do not send five. That is very unnecessary.

^who said I was going to? I’m sending 3

No one – nor did I claim that you did. I was simply referencing Ancalagon’s post.

I emailed princeton and they said I could submit it by email…how would this even work?

I think they mean your teacher would have to email it? I don’t know, I think mailing it is a better idea. Just find the address for the admissions office.

I just thought mailing would be more trouble, since you have to fill out the form on paper more than once

Aah, yes. If only someone would invent a machine that could take one sheet of paper, and copy its contents onto another sheet. That would be mighty dandy.

^hahahah nice.

How do you send additional letters of rec through common app? Or do I have to ask my teachers to physically mail it?
